Many years ago in the days of the great lumberjack, Paul Bunyan, and Babe, his big blue ox, Humboldt Steel Corp. was just a steel fabrication company in San Francisco CA. After clearing the Great Plains of the north Paul Bunyan moved to Humboldt California to challenge himself and Babe in the greatest forest in the great redwoods of northern California. Being that the trees In northern California were so massive he sought out the Humboldt Steel Corp. and asked them to fabricate him an axe fit for a giant lumberjack in a giant forest.
This great axe was an unbelievable challenge and by the time this undertaking was complete this great axe weighed 5,000 lbs. Upon receiving his new axe, Paul Bunyan realized that the great redwoods of northern California were no longer challenge for him. He could fall the greatest of trees with only three swings. However, this accomplishment came at a great price. Babe his big blue ox was unable to sustain the pace that Paul Bunyan could. But because he loved his ox and did not want anything to happen to his friend and long time pet, he approached Humboldt Steel Corp. once again. He asked them to create the great Red Wood Skunk Rail System. This would ease the burden of transporting the massive amount of red wood from the northwest to the mills of San Francisco. This rail system today, is known as the Skunk Train, and still weaves through the mountains, valleys, and red woods of northern CA.
Over the years Paul Bunyan and Babe his great blue ox began to slow down and appreciate the finer things in life. This began their personal pursuit to acquire the best of mountain water, hops, and barley that California had to offer. No longer needing it for lumber, Paul Bunyan began to use the Skunk Rail to transport all of the finest hops and barley that could be found throughout CA., and bring them directly to his home in Humboldt, CA.
Paul Bunyan and his great blue ox began going through the process of combining hops, barley, and the purest mountain water to create the recipes that are known today as the finest craft beer in California . In reading this story you should all know that Paul Bunyan was an isolated and selfish man with very few friends. He was only willing to share his craft beer, recipes and spoils of his years of work with Babe the great blue ox and the two founders of Humboldt Steel Corporation.
The founders of Humboldt Steel began to lose the desire for steel fabrication. They began to find their own passion, which was San Francisco styled pizza. They took to Northern California with their best recipes and asked Paul Bunyan to move to Humboldt California to live out the rest of their days drinking the best beer and eating the finest pizza.
Chris Bowman and Alan Merullo are now the only living descendants of the original founders of the Humboldt Steel Corp., and are now faced with the challenge to bring the recipes that Paul Bunyan, Babe, Alan, and Chris's ancestors loved so much across the U.S. and straight to you.
